Re-Orientating the guidelines

Hi, wondered if anyone could help me. Occasionally the drawing lines do not fit to the white orientation lines. It usually happens after moving something with the mouse, or if I draw something quickly. The picture below should show what I mean better I think

because you rotate your view on left side (key 6 of the numerical keyboard) and then, move to top (5 key).

It's only a change of view !

Its not a view thing, the picture is taken from top down (5) I've worked through everything I can, but still no idea >_> Its not much of a change from original, but it can still make things look very odd if I modelling in detail. Thanks for taking time to help

the colored crosshairs you see are actually based on the last point you clicked/placed/moved to, etc. basically where you finished your last action at (or in the case of the stretch tool, started your action from). the big thing is that the crosshairs are not indicative of your point in space, but rather are guides based on the last point you were working on, so you can place points/objects precisely from one point to another.

so if you're trying to rely on the crosshairs to be the center of your modeling space, that may be impossible. you can, however, place things in the center of the universe, or in relation to the center, by changing your coordinates from relative to absolute, and entering coordinates in the parameters dialog.

hope this helps a bit

Are you saying world or local coordinates? Amapi typically works in a local space so if you were to locate an objects xxxx from another you can still do it by using snaps then simply click the move and type in the amount offset from the reference object. I myself would love to see feedback for both world and local or even have a button on the move tool to swap between and use the center grid as 0,0,0

Heres a simple sample of swapping between local and world coordinates.
I was able to position objects relative to the world space then toggle to local for dimensioning. This can be found in the preferences under the Units tab.
The top option lets you swap to relative and absolute (relative = local).
I do wish they had this option maybe along with the tools when selected so you don't have to dig.

if you are using the "pro" interface, then you do have the button on screen. i've included an image of it's location (at the bottom of the screen)

I just noticed that, It was on the beta wish list and not sure when they implemented it.
I probably should install the retail version, I know there were other last minute fixes.
