| broken constraint tools again
Again, as with the 7.15 update, the constraint tools in Amapi Pro 7.5 don't work. This is the case in Amapi Pro 7.5 under the mac OS (G4). The new snap tools are nice, but they don't replace the constraints. As in drawing a path, once you click on a constraint to align points, the path is ended and you can't continue to complete the path, nor does it allow you to align anything. Also why is it that in Amapi, you can't give thickness to a three point nurbs surface (a triangle), no matter how that surface was created? Using the sweep tool to give it depth dosen't work either. Any feedback would be appreciated. TomK |

Hi, Can you give us an exemple with a set of picture to show the problem with the constraint ? The Thickness tool is the most difficult tool to use and to have some result. About your triangle, try to make one with 4 control vertex (then, two three are align) and try again. And finaly, you cannot extrude a nurbs surface as you can do in polygons ! Quote:

Align them with what, the alignment tools dont work. Just Kidding. Yes, you can add thickness to a four point triangle, I was just wondering why not a three point triangle. As for the constraint tool problem, there is really not anything to illustrate. With the poly line tool draw a four point triangle, but avoid using horizontal or vertical lines. Now line the third point up horizontally with the first point using the horizontal axis through a specific point constraint tool. Select the first point as the specific point and try to plot that third point and closed the shape. The constraints I've been using for some time. They worked fine in the first version of Amapi Pro and were broke in Version 7.15. Fixed in 7.16 and now broke again in 7.5. It's getting fustrating. Again, I am operating on a Mac G4 under OS X 10.2.8. Jaquar. Sorry, I think I said Panther in the original post. Thanks. Tom K |
