sweep shape

I´m starting to use amapi, the program have a very unique interface, something diferent to those I´m used to work.
My question is: How could I repeat this shape I create in Carrara with spline model, in amapi?
I create the path and a profile, then I make the profile follow the path as a pipeline.
Amapi have something called sweep but when I use it I get this shapes...
Do I miss something?

Send a message via ICQ to Pixelplucker
There are several options on the sweep tool when binding a profile to a path, the one you want is "regular sweep" the 2nd icon from right on tool option when selected.

Note that you can add chamfers to the nodes later when you seep an object and if an edge doesn't show then simply get info on the object and choose "create an edge for each nodal brake" button located bottom of the list. This wll create an edge that you can manipulate later.

hope this helps.
