Here is an obvious one that should have been fixed long ago: ![]() It happens with crack-free NURBS, too. Just not as bad. Amapi Pro 7 (all versions so far) adds extra points to NURBS spheres, cubes, cones, cylinders, and any other NURBS object you create. Who has time to re-edit every NURBS object when the computer should be doing it correctly the first time?

| ![]() Here is the same NURBS sphere exported into Carrara 3.0.4 as a CAR file and rendered. Removing equal points doesn't work because the points aren't equal. This is very basic stuff that Amapi Pro 7 fails at. One shouldn't have to correct Amapi Pro 7's mistakes. A better foundation is needed for building objects on. Who wants to build on a broken foundation? Smoothing the NURBS sphere (with the +/- keys after creating its radius) still invites breaks that need patching up (in both crack-free and standard mode). I emailed Eovia support about this, so we'll see.

On one hand he has pointed out something that should be fixed. Using the close object tool shows that 2 or 3 of the edges along the nurbs seam are not welded The weld tool, in point editing mode, fixes the problem with just one or two clicks of the “+”, not exactly a show stopping problem that can't be dealt with. wayne k guam usa incoming storm on the way..... again.. |
