You cannot apply differents chamfers on the same object if you don't collapse the dynamical geometry (clic on the small lightning at the right of the chamfer level). After collapsing, you can apply another.. that's a limitation of the DG : not multiple chamfers on the same object without collapsing... |

ah that is pretty sad that at the moment amapi cannot handly different settings while working with DG. since i compare it a lot with cobalt here i dont wanna give the impression i wanna flame amapi in any way. i am just objective comparing the tools to the roots and functions it provides for the money it costs. in cobalt you always have a construction history. eovia is wrong with saying it is the only app with such a DG sicne cobalts is a bit more flexible. but what annoys me in cobalt is that sometimes it smoothes one edge and also edges connected to it. there for amapis way is better. only when you want to change a setting later you need to go to an older file. claas |

yes, it's not perfect.. but you cannot have everything for a software which cost $799 But we are thinking about this problem with the DG... I need to have full dynamical chamfer too (and other tools)... Don't forget that Amapi 7 Pro is a young product too ;) |

totyo in case i would not think amapi might be interesting i would not apply for a beta testing. i mainly work with cobalt an so i can compare through my working experience amapi and test it deep to its core since i think for the price ag it offers a very nice and powerfull toolset. and well in rhino you only work with surfaces itself so a lot of models and objects should be possible to build in amapi. i just noted that even i compare cobalt with amapi i dont want to flame it in any way. i am not a big fan from carrara in some ways but amapi draws a big attention to me. i was teaching carrara at a university in the usa and found it in some ways very neat (rendering GI) but lacking freedom in other areas. since i will teach again in the usa for two years at the bowling green state university where i will make my master degree in fine arts studio art i could imagine that amapi will be usefull for my metal art students as shown in one of the user profiles. actualy because of this tutorial i got interested into the current amapi pro release! special a 125 $ tag for students is pertty reasonalble in my opinion for what amapi is offering!!! claas |
