Hi Destinor .
I would like to say one thing ,if you please.
Do not misunderstand amapi.pro.
Amapi pro is the same thing as A7 ,but the nurbs modeler .
If you think you're good in nurbs ,you can always work with A7' own " nurbs system" wich is pretty good even if it's not called true nurbs.
Amapi pro has just integrated the true nurbs.
Amapi7 is really powerfull enough to make exactly ..what you want.

The polygonal modeler is exactly the same in both versions.
Amapi pro in fact is named Amapi7 pro.
The obj export is the best way to link your creation with all the other soft.
The rest is up to you.
Cheers

thanks

hello Pyem.
well i like very much to draw in 2d , by that i show to interesting to leran more and more about amapi.

I would like to know all about model of this way.nurbs, splines or patching.
the problem is that program designed to use nurbs like rhino,it seems to me too complicated the interface its alittle strange to me.
I read in the magazine 3d world an article about amapi designer 7 ...IT GOT A 9 !!! so i want to learn all about thsi program....iwant to be a modeller .well i want to put my 2d concepts in 3d.... and here is amapi designer.....now with the pro i think is a better opcion to model inorganic objet...but amapi design still being a GREAT MODELLER.

My problem ,all my friends using or maya 3dmax or lightwave.......so by that my questions about modeling in amapi(pro or design) and go to lightwave....

thanks.. and dont worry all your comment are very usefull to me

Roger

Hello, I can't help you about LW or maya but I did write a beginner tutorial for Amapi 7/ Pro in the latest 3DXtract. There will be more Amapi articles in the future also.

Hi, we are a few people to use LW here … and the obj file work fine.
Be sure that the export setting are correctly set, don't tick the "nurbs export" only check uv and normal in the dialog box of the export.
LW, Maya and Max (via objplug) or C4D, Carrara, … can read the obj wihtout any problem.
The only know problem, is sometime you will have to remove equal points in your 3D software after the import …
If you have any problems with your file, send it to me or Totyo or anybetatester you read the forum, you will check it. But a t this day no file cannot be exported. No one.

About the 3D Magazine, Amapi win 9 stars, because it's one of the most famous modelor since many year … infortunaly is unknow form a lo of people …
The Pro have some option unavailable in the Designer for polygon. And the Nurbs are great for design package/products/ or export to cad data.
(use the iges)
Be sure to check the video tutorial from Totyo our admin/god, in the tutorial section.

But, in first : HAVE FUN !

Did you download the demo versions of Pro and Designer to try out? Be sure you visit the tutorial movies on EOVIA's site.

yes, 3DSMax sux.. ;)
Amapi 5-6 have the lwo export format if I remember ;) But the OBJ is better. Olivier Drion, who is the redactor of the only Amapi's book available use Amapi with LW without any problems
