I ve been starting a sculpting training for 3 weeks now. It's been a long time that I wanted to do that and I had the opportunity, and OMG, it's damn cool the clay! I did some wood and stone sculpting a long time ago and this is totally different!
This is my first try. A lot of mistakes, but i'm pretty happy with the result.

My only regret.. no automatic symetry

Bravo Thomas, looking good! It's clever from you to practice with "real life" sculpting, for sure it will improve your "digital" works.
And, by the way, I guess it has also a relaxing effect.

It is pretty good doing as your first try, Thomas.

I can imagine the scene you are working happily.

Sculpting is so good with no bug.

Well, Shoeach, most of the time, the bug is you in real sculpting

If you use clay that you dig up from your back yard it can be full of bugs.

Great work, Thomas! Must be fun to be able to mold the clay the way you want to - but I could imagine that you do miss the Ctrl-Z key! (I do when I get to play with paint sometimes....).

Is this model one big clump of clay? Or do you start with a base from a different material and add then the layers of clay? (Seems otherwise that it would be very, very heavy!).

BTW, nobody has a perfect symmetric face....
