Building Bee Movie Letters

Hello, loops.

I'm having a quite basic, but big problem with both Carrara and Hexagon. I want to build up letters in "Bee Movie" style as seen on http://costumzee.com/view/wp-content.../bee_movie.png for example.
My problem is that I can't use Futura Extra Bold from within Carrara (just lets me chose Futura or Futura condensed). When I create an .ai of the typo, Carrara imports it very edgy and without interpolation. Same with Hexagon.
Anybody got a clue, how I could work with Futura from within these applications or import the type outlines smoothed to have them extruded?
Thank you,
Tassilo

Attached is a preview of the imported .ai-text.

in the Carrara vertex room under geometry -> surface fidelity...set it to 400% or above. It will still look bad in the vertex room, but will look good in the assembly room and renders.

an other way is in Illustrator, go to object -> path -> add anchor points

I have been "fiddling" trying to emulate that BEE --in Hex,Carrara,Amapi,ViaCad, MoI etc. What a learning exercise on the various differences and limitations of the various apps.

Here some exercises in Arial Black in Carrara and MoI.
