| That's just cool man! ![]() | [Hexagon]selections in hex with 10.5 trying to use Hex with apple's 10.5.. problem is I can't get the mouse to actually select anything! when the curser goes over the line or what ever it highlights like normal, but if i click on it nothing happen, In other words as soon as I move the mouse it becomes unhighlighted... make since? trying to make a simple spoke like on the front of a bike. want to go around and select a line, loop it, the move... again as soon as I select something, move the mouse up to hit the loop button the line looses it's selection. any ideas? some stupid thing I'm missing? thanks |

| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | Not sure what is happening... I don't do Apples... However - in Hex you must first select the type of object you want to work with from the menu bar (usually at top of screen)... whether you are wanting to select vertices, edges, faces, objects. There are keyboard shortcuts for each of these too. Maybe you already know all of this, but thought I would mention it. |

| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | Check to see if the item is locked in the scene objects menu. (You will see a little padlock icon - locked or open). Probably isn't because I don't think you can even select the edge with it locked. Weird. It may help if you post a screen capture that includes all the toolbars while you are trying to do this. |

| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | That is truly weird... That line should remain selected when you move up to click the loop button - unless you did another click in between. You might try resetting the prefs to default (in Hexagon) ?? maybe the sensitivity is set too high for your mouse or pen tablet... ?? Here's from my screen (Windows) Last edited by Nate Owens : 1st December 2007 at 23:18. |

| That's just cool man! ![]() | partition your drive and install 10.4 on one and 10.5 on the other I always do that with a new system because there is always something buggy for the first few months hex has always been quarky on the mac.. can't use multi views.. can only have one view or the screen starts overlaying the things, cant do dual monitors either because the window you put on the secondary monitor just bouces right back. they say the work around is to put everything on the 2nd monitor and then you can drag the palettes back to the prime but my 2nd monitor isn't a good one and I only have it for palettes and such so that's not a fix for me.... I just hope they fix all this stuff soon. I really like the way the work flow is. to bad I can't use it for 50% of the stuff |

| Extrusion ![]() | This might not be 'just' a Mac thing. I am working with Vista on a PC, and I have so much diffuculties when trying to select things (faces, vertices and lines). Sometimes it does work - sometimes I just don't get it selected. (Or even deselected, like the carafe in the Tutorial PDF. Had to click in the Scene Tree, I believe, to get it de-selected....) It is very weird, and I think that this makes it difficult to work with Hexagon. Jacqueline |

| Extrusion ![]() | Propably. I quit playing Vue 6 Espirit because of all the problems in there (waiting for tem to solve the issues). But the problems get worse when I am working for a while in Hex. It seems that the problems just add to each other. Of course I am also making a lot of mistakes. I guess that I could restart the software after a while. Maybe trying running it as an Administrator? Like Hex too much to give up. And I still have Amapi Pro 7, which i also like to learn well. Heard also some rumors about the videacard manufacturers, that they are rewriting the software for the videocards cause they underestimated Vista. Maybe within the next year the problems are solved? Keep my fingers crossed! Jacqueline |
