Custom Plugins for Hex?

Does anybody know if it is possible to write custom plugins for Hexagon? I would like to see if it is possible to write an exporter for Hexagon 2.2.

there is no SDK, so i imagine you can not... but maybe you can write a stand-alone translator to bring in .hxn files, and spit out whatever you need? what's the advantage over using obj or some other standard format?

shorty

JackalDesign may have a specific application and workflow in mind.

Saving in a binary format like HXN or CAR has a few advantages (like greater processing speed and smaller file sizes) over the typical text based 3D files like OBJ, DXF, 3DS etc.

Also, having an option to have embedded textures in the binary 3D file is a plus. You don't get that option with text based files.
