Amapi on Linux

I know this has been asked before, but is there any hope of running Amapi on Linux?
If you speak to Linux people, they say "use Blender" which is fine, but people who have not used Amapi, and think maybe it's just another modeller, they don't understand!

I have just discovered that Amapi 6 runs quite well on Wine in Ubuntu 7.10. Which is great news for me at least.
