Two days ago i tried to open an old Hex file. Now it says the file is corrupted. So that model is lost. This same thing happened to me many times already. It reminds me why i would stop using Hex for months at a time...

Thanx!
Going back to the original question. DAZ is now the owner of Hexagon. I believe there will be new releases. Now that C6 is done, I believe the Charles Brissart team in the Carrara development will now be able to concentrate on the modeling aspect whether in Car's or Hex's. I don't believe that all they can do is hair feature. Ask Thomas.

Why do I believe this? There is nothing static about software development. It's a dynamic process. Hexagon 3 will loom in the horizon one of these days.

So keep you serial numbers and get ready for another $1.99 offer next year.

V2.2 but it's not any model for customer-related stuff. Just a personal work. I think i have the model in a Carrara scene somewhere, i have to poke around for it...

You can forget the $1.99 purchase, I think that was to get more people on the wagon. Is C6 going for $1.99 NO.!
So Hex 3 will not either.

Right. DAZ historically has been in the content business, and DAZ Studio really is their content platform. They want to expand beyond that and be a real software house as well, and that was the motivation behind picking up Carrara and Hex.

The whole 'Hex for $1.99' was rationalized by the content side of the house. I think the logic there was that if you get the modeling tools into people's hands, they'll make more models for us to sell. Carrara doesn't fall under that, so no Carrara for $1.99.

way back on the shelf.....

I think they probably would de Hex again for 1.99 as they have nothing but complaints and unsatisifed users from the majority of the Daz users. They would be hard pressed to charge anything more to users who were not satisfied with it the first round.
