Goodbye Hexagon v2.x. The wierdness will never stop IMHO. .

I am going back to install Hexagon v1.2. Hey man v.1.2 worked great. The only reason I even bought Hexagon 2 was for the new features that have too much to be desired to effectively use. Other apps can cover my displacement, texturing, and painting with better results anyway. Of course this is only how I feel, others may prefer v2.

Peace,
Stan

I think H2.1 was the pinnacle of the application myself and is what I use.

i never use any of the new features of Hex 2. To me the original modeling toolset still outshines any of the 2.0 features...

Free tesselation alone is reason enough to go from 1.2 to 2.1 and the modeling is no less stable at all for me.

i am using 2.2 for stability reasons (2.1 was a disaster on my sytems). As you mentioned the tesselation tools were good improvement in 2.0. As were the faster redraw speed, though 2.2 seems a bit slower than 2.1... I prefer to have stability over speed any day (waving to Couerl as i zoom past his burning wreckage on the race track )

I guess you haven't used 2.2 much.

(Couerl crosses the finish line watching Shorty drive in the wrong direction with his chinese take-out order).

That's what is installed in my PC. I had the upgrade (Hex2), updates and all. Each time I install 2 I always end up uninstalling it and reinstalling Hex 1.2. I did't really need the sculpting tools anyway. I was hoping for more non-organic features prior to 2's release then.

One drawback is that you can't open files done in 2. No problem. I converted them to obj files so I can open them in 1.2. Anything that works.

I actually never really instal the upgrade of 2.1 or 2.2( the latest one)
It works fine without any crashes, thanks goodness,
but you can't beat the Hex 1.2 .

I yet haven't seen any good "Z brush-like" sculpts, for the exception of the first one, the beast. I think it was one of Mox's.
