Blink [Hexagon] Can't use symmetry! Why?

Does anyone know why the symmetry tool would not activate on this mesh? I am working on this months key chain contest mesh to practice with.

I split the original in half and now I want to use the symmetry tool so I can duplicate the other half and begin to stitch it together.

Any ideas? It seems like the button just will not work for this mesh, but will work with anything else I put into the scene.

Thanks for any ideas.

That's weird, mabey is the first tentacle, that is passing the middle of the model. can you upload the 3d model to see what's the problem.

Well, I went on and finished the model with out the use of the symmetry function; but I have an earlier save, right after I split the model and before the other changes.

Here it is. Also attached is the final Carrara render. I really like Hexagon!

I figured it out.

I found that the problem existed somewhere between my keyboard and my chair.

Lol, Kyroclasm, care to share what the problem was? I can't seem to get symettry to work either - and that thing sitting in the chair isn't helping me! Btw, I have to say your little octopus keychain probably looks better being assymetric than it would if all the tentacles were the same. ;)

Select your model, goto vertex tab, select symmetry button.

Select the bounding box face you would like to create the symmetric half, hit enter.

Thats it. Click on the image below to see what I mean.
