Blink Problematic closed surface

Hello, Hexers.

I've got a li'l problem with Hex here… maybe one of you can help me. I did an outline in AI, exported it as .ai v3, imported in Hex (2.2 on a G5). Extruded, closed the two open sides with "Close" (All).
Then I placed seams as seen on the second image. In the UV window thus, the closed sides look strange (see image 1) and I guess the resulting UV mapping will too.

Anybody got a clue what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Tassilo

Try Selection>Select All

Then Tools>Vertex Modelling>Close

Hope I am correct and that it helps.

This is a common problem. Your big n-gon sides won't render correctly. You could connect the symmetrically opposing points by tesselation or look at my guitar body tutorial to get an idea of what you need to do.

Huge ngons are bad, always try to compartmentalize this kind of surfaces with a shape forming a S.
