@corzair..

looks good. they make it look so easy.. i always had a problem with NURBS as the curves always seemd to float in air and i couldnt guess how they 'connected' with the geometry...

appreciate the help

My problem precisely, I get the part about drawing the curve on top of the picture but when i go to the side viw how do you get the curves to bend so beautifully.

if you love car design just have a look there http://www.carbodydesign.com/, and there is a 3D section with tutorials. That said, it can be hard to use tutorials that have not been done for your software, even if reading them can give hints or best practices .

thanks pete,

any info is useful, im only trying to improve my modeling skils, and modeling something well known as say a car is harder, and i want to model my car as well...

i was thinking of a rhino to xsi pipeline, but nurbs from rhino to xsi is nearly impossible..

anyone tried amapi to xsi nurbs...i converted a nurbs to poly in rhino.. got that into xsi no problem.. but high poly cout when set to high setting on export.

i know xsi nurbs are not as good as say 3dsmax...

anyone have experience...

That beetle tutorial looks good but what the heck is a “Surf.tendues” or “Double casing”. Thats the problem with the auto translation. It doesn't always work out well enough.

Cheers

Grendel had already offered his translated version of this one into English. He was asking for permission. The author didn't respond.

If you look at the images, I think this is probably one of the most helpful tutes Amapi 7.5 owners could look into. Many modeling techniques/problems seem to have been covered. The automated translation wasn't good. I got stuck in many places. I'd love to see a proper translation of it.

I'm a bit surprized that Gilles did not answered. Are you sure of that ?

It would be very handy if this could be translated properly rather than the auto translate.

Cheers

Yes, I was looking for that particular thread where Grendel offered his translated version of the tute. I could not find it. Hope Grendel would clarify this.
