Hex that is, It is crashing on me more than before. It is not stable. Time to move on. Why no one believes me? It is a bitter separation but i have to do it. Last edited by crazy wabbit; 30th June 2007 at 06:47. |

Hiya. I hear all this talk about Hexagon being so unstable...honestly, it's pretty damn stable for me. I use it just about every day, and I think I might get one crash every two weeks or so. Am I just lucky or what?

| Don't toss the Hex, wonderful wabbit! 2.2 is a lot smoother... I haven't tried everything yet, but even Ambient Occlusion works. It is behaving good for me. You can go to "Tiger Direct" a discount computer outfit in the states (I think they sell to y'all yankees)... get a barebones system and build what you want... it's not hard and you get what you want instead of what some salesdude has to peddle. That's what I did... if the tech stuff stumps you get some computer jock in your neighborhood to do it for you. You will be able to do a lot more than just run Hex, so it isn't like building a system for one software. --- Some friendly advice... many 3d programs do not apparently make their goodies for macks. ---My specs.... |

I have had pretty good luck with Hex (1 and 2) but have had some crashes too. One thing I have learned is that when I have done one or two things that didn't work (results were not what I expected) it is a good idea to shut down and start over. Save first of course and often! I always save as Name01.hxn, Name02.hxn so you can back up if you get a corrupt file. In MY experience the more you know about a program and modeling the fewer crashes you will encounter. It's just part of learning 3D. When I started with Hex it crashed all the time. I'm just glad I don't work to a schedule! HP dv8000, Winxp sp2, Intel Centrino Duo 2Gb ram, nVidia Go 7600 256mb |
