| Creating Surface Problem
After a bit of trial and error I was able to work out a method of making the selection as shown on the image. I feel I should be able to use the Bridge tool, or one of the surface modelling tools, on this. Any advise please? Last edited by laughingnome; 18th June 2007 at 02:55. Reason: typo |

Brian, way too many points on beziers and interpolates to bridge or rule or sweep or extrude effectively. You could draw those same shapes with 5 or 6 points from a regular old straight polyline and rule surface them. Then after you have your basic rough shape you can work in greater definition by adding more lines, poly's or whatever. One of the problems in learning how to model is to start basic and then work in the details. Keep at it and keep asking questions, you deserve to get the most out of it. |

Using your file, when I added the surface the form was twisted. So, I deleted one of the curves, duplicated the single curve that was left, to have two profiles for the surface tool, and applied the Ruled surface to get this result. |

I'm curious what you intend to do with this shape. My earlier point was only to suggest that it was way too high poly and not that it couldn't be done. It's rare if ever that I use an interpolated curve for extrusion, never really use ruled surfaces and I don't think I've ever even touched beziers, I just can't think of any reason why you might need them.
