My son, on another computer here at home, is trying it out . He wants it for the animation side. Like me though, he says the modelling leaves a lot to be desired.

LG. Download a demo of LightWave if you can to try out. Just about everything works in a contrary way to most every app I use/have ever used!

I would be surprised if most who had developed CG methods in other apps would find LW comfortable to adapt to.

The Modo team (who came from LW) seem to be trying to improve on LW working methods I gather.

I believe that I'll be OK.

After Bryce-Amapi6-Wings3D-Silo-Carrara5-Vue5&6 expirience I doubt I'm gonna find some big surprises, unless it's worse then Blender, we shall see, downloading trial version now...

I await your response. Try and stick with the modelling part just for a start to see what you find.

No way Blender has the worst learning curve ever i had lw demo v9
it was more like hex2.1- maya-xsi-rhino you will love it except for tool limits
imposed by demo version.
