Thomas seems to be quiet here recently.
Is this only the calm before the storm (announcement of release of Amapi8)?

I hope so.

no, sorry, I had to move a lot for various events and trade show: press conference around Poser 7 french in paris, Adobe live these last two days, MIFA this next week for 4 days, etc...
On the top of that, you can add Amapi, which is well.. not so far

I'm currently working on the documentation and Layout. As the application, the documentation will be in "beta" I mean, some features will miss, and a lot of illustrations will also miss.

Hi Thomas!

I am very happy I found this forum...at least now I get some feeling, that I one day will get a version of my "lovely" Amapi working on my Intel Mac.

At eovia's homepage you get no indication on the future of Amapi except for the remark under FQA: "While we can’t say the exact date, Amapi 8 Pro will ship in the first quarter of 2007" - and that is a little late now!

Thanks for the good work....and please surprise us all soon!

I'ld rather see an Amazing and bugless Amapi in December than an amazing and buggy-as-can-be Amapi tomorrow.
If the development team is taking their time, I'm sure it's for a very good reason.

Juan: anyway, in a public beta, you will have more bugs than a finished product

Public beta? What, where, when, who? Was I out of town and did not notice something? Would you care to elaborate?

We will do a public beta of Amapi 8. Please, don't consider that as an official annoucnment, but it's no more a kind of secret ;)
We will do a public beta of Amapi 8, anyone who want to try will be able to do it, even without being a current owner of Amapi 7 (or previous releases). No restrictions on the software, except a time limitation, until the next public beta update and then, until the final release of the product.

soon, perhaps at the end of this month, or at the beginning of July. Even if it's a public -beta-, it must be as stable as possible ;)
On another side, for those of you who want to see Amapi 8 in action, we will be (me included) at the Siggraph in August, in San Diego.
