All topologic operation (I mean, editing the geometry) affect a clone. Moving all the object (or rotate, scale and move) doesn't affect the clones. To be simple, these last operation, in object mode, just affect the bounding box.

For your information, we posted a message on the Amapi.net blog regarding the Amapi Catalog.

Here is the message itself:

It’s time to show again some features of Amapi 8. For this new release, we did a lot of work on the UI of the software and you will be surprise of such changes! We will post a dedicated post about that later.

For today, this is the new Amapi 8 Catalog. It has been rewritten it and this is the result (clic for the full size of all images):

First thing, it’s now at the bottom, where the Control Panel was before (… then, where is the Control Panel? On the top right of the screen (some features have been hidden in this screen capture)). No more page as before, juste use your mouse wheel to browse. It’s also working like a OS navigator: double click a folder to see it’s content, click on the Go Back icon and so on.

On the top left, the navigation tools and Catalog utilities : rebuild, go up in the hierarchy, trash, OS navigation, etc. On the top right, your folder favorites.

As you can see on the screen capture above, you can choose the size of the thumbail (64×64, 96×96 and 128×128).

Juste a last information: It’s now possible to let the catalog always open while working. It’s a good way to manage complexe scene, when you want to merge a lot of file, while modeling! We hope you will like it!

Photoshop is your friend
We will provide two or three sets of icons anyway (same icon, different color).
If it was only me, I would use orange.. or light blue...

Mayito: As said in the previous messages, I'm not aware of all the marketing/sales stuff...
Ringo, me too, but it's already used by another application that you should know.

In Amapi, all the images are available for the users, then, it's easy to tweak or change them. The application colors is also available, and it's possible to do a kind of big hue/saturation on all the default colors (except the bar titles which have to be done in an image editor)

I think that one causes selected users to vanish from all the forums when they click it.

Hi Thomas. You did a good job on the icons. They're very distinguishable from one another. As for the color, all of the primary hues have already been used so I can't think of any more. Any one of those is fine with me. I can't wait to see Amapi 8. I'm looking forward to play with a new toy. I'd surely spend a huge amount of time with it. Let us have the beta now.

Not for the 8.0 release, perhaps for a minor or intermediate update.

...I'm hoping for a nice purple color.

I've never been an Amapi user, but dang it, if it works and 'flows' as well as Hexagon does for me, I might have to pick it up. Of course, this is all dependant upon "when" Hexagon 3.0 gets released (I'm hoping my kids are off to college by that time so I have the money; of course, I have to actually *have* some kids first...guess I better get started! ;) ).
