bwtr,
I was struck by your affection for Amapi which were fully transmitted to me.
I'm same feelings as you.

I’m always dreaming that Amapi8 is released by Thomas and his fellows.
My eyes are wetting with tears now….

Sorry for my sentimentality.

Wish all my posts had a response with that depth of positive feeling.

I am going to switch off the computer right now and go to bed with pleasant thoughts.

You are probably more likely to see Amapi 8 in Japan than the rest of us. I think the Amapi/Shade pairing has a lot of potential, but they both needed a friendlier user interface. The sneak peeks Thomas posted show that the interface issue was addressed in Amapi 8. Now if efrontier builds a solid bridge between A8 and shade, we could have a very good modelling/rendering solution.

Unfortunately, I have no idea of what efrontier's plans are. I doubt they would have spent all that $$$ on Eovia France to throw away the code later. So I believe the Amapi 8 technology will be used in a released product (A8 or Shade?), but I'm not sure it will be available outside of Japan.

Nobody really knows what e frontier intend to do with Amapi. It's been complete silence on Amapi since the French team was let go.

I doubt it will be combined with Shade in the near future, although this would be great. Shade 9 has already been released in Japan last year - Shade 10 maybe?

Well, this thread has almost 18,000 views, that's 4X more views than a JoeBattle render at CGTalk...

I haven thinking of asking or begging for that matter to the beta testers to let me play with Amapi. I have been using it since its was YoNoWat software.

I understand your feeling bwtr. Hope someone will feel holiday spirit and send us a PM:

Such an action could (and probably would) invite a lawsuit by e-frontier against the person who distributes it...

shorty

I know, that is why I did not ask. I was just expressing my feelings

I won't be able to use it, our studio won't allow it.

I was just being sentimental about, hope I am not offending anyone.
