Does anyone know if Amapi was sold to Smith Micro along with eFrontier America, or did it remain with e-Frontier Japan? For those who missed the news. Last edited by EricD; 20th November 2007 at 06:35. Reason: add link |

( I give up, concentrate on MOI and 3D BRUSH I suggest.) well no, personally. I like Shade (don't know about MoI on mac)... but Amapi on Mac works really really well. I'm just getting used to layers (there are no layers in Hex, yes?) - much more friendly than a scene tree - and using Illustrator to do blueprints with snap-to points is a real bonus. Now I just have to learn nurbs... As a model-making app, Amapi is far in front of hex and carrara. The Japanese should get behind this prog and do some real marketing in my opinion. I wonder what they're waiting for? |

Beta testers please note that I WILL NOT tell anyone if you give me a copy of Amapi8!!!! I have fiddled a bit with all of the following,Hexagon,Amapi (various versions),Rhino etc. Compared to MoI, the nearest comfortable working app (for me) is Amapi 7.52.--I perceive Amapi 8 as a potential gem which could overcome the (slight) limitations of MoI (which, to be fair, are not within the MoI area of philosophy to enter anyway) Can I expect an exciting PM? |
