uv unwrap issue

Hi

I have a model made of different parts, it's my camera. I am able to uv unwrap individual parts if I don't weld the parts. But once I perform weld on all the parts and make it one I can not uv unwrap. I make the seams, then click the head but nothing happens. Am I missing a step? I can't find it anywhere.

I am able to use any kind of projection map on the welded objects, it is just the uv unwrap that doesnt work.

Thanks

I narrowed it down to the group if boxes copied around the lens thing. I was able to unwrap the body and the lens as one welded object. But when I add the group of boxes I cant unwrap. There is really no place for seams to go on the boxes. does every object have to have a looped seam? What if you have a model comprised of many small objects? How can you get them all on one uv map?

Rather than welding them, use the group tool to group them together, then go into the UV editor.

They should all appear on the same map.

You may try just selecting all of the objects without grouping.
