| Hi, my first hex model
Hi I'm brand new here. My real name is Dennis but you can just call me 3dfrog. I am an animation master user. I have been using it for years but my modeling isn't very good in it. I am trying poly modeling now to see if it opens my eyes wider. I am not going to give up animation master but would like to do polys too. I was looking at silo and using the demo and was gonna buy it. Then I came across hexagon. I started using it yesterday and I really like it. I like that I can paint on a model too, that really appeals to me. I did the camera tutorial. Here is my first hexagon model I made with the demo: ![]() I think I am already getting better ![]() I rendered it in daz studio. I am gonna use the hexagon demo until it runs out and if it still holds up I will buy it. If it goes on sale during that time I will definitely buy it. Thanks for looking |

Looks good, work on your scale a little bit, periodically zoom out so you can see the whole model to spot if it is a little squat or thick. Try the sports watch and water bottle tutorials as well, with those under your belt you should have a good grasp of most of the tools so you can get started creating what you want.

Looks pretty good, it's that you learned what and why you were doing it that's what is important. With the left palette open select the polys you want adifferent color. Then click the new button on the bottom of the shading domains window. This will add a shading domain for just those polys. now select the new domain and it's related material will appear in the upper left window where you can change the color, rename it, etc, etc.. |

For all Hexagon fans we have good news. Good things are happening with Hexagon 2. We have taken your valuable feedback regarding the 10 most hated bugs in Hexagon 2 and we are working on an update. We can't give you a specific date as to its release but will make an announcement as soon as it is ready. DAZ is fully committed to continue the development of all the Eovia products we acquired. _________________ Ringo Monfort Carrara & Hexagon Resident Guru Last edited by RingoM on 16 Apr 2007 23:36; edited 1 time in total |

3dfrog - Silo works as a fine package for allot of people, I have a copy myself but never use it that I bought just to get at v2. I hope you enjoy it, just my two cents worth on Hex, most "bugs" with it are user induced and it is capable of great output once your familiar with it.
