need a little help

I'm fairly new to modeling, I've been learning to model clothes for around 6 months now and I'm still not very good.. I've followed some of the tutorials here and I was just wondering if anybody could give me some tips on a few things; I'm trying to model some animals, not realistic, cartoony is fine, I'd like to know how to extrude the head and body from a sphere, and arms and legs too, and rounded eyes, how would you do rounded eyes? good ol confusion ^_^

Have you watched the Wild Space Creature video tutorial that comes with Hexagon? It starts simply with a cube, which they quickly subdivide into a sphere. From that point on, it sounds a lot like the kind of example you are looking for, extruding out the head and legs and all. As for round eyes, eye sockets and lids are usually modeled from the head, with space for inserting the eyes (spheres) as separate objects. Helps with animation too, should you bring your animal into Carrara or other program capable of animating. hth

The easiest way to get there is through Hexagon's 'Help' menu. The first item in the list is 'Documentation' (lots of embedded mini movie tutorials for individual tools). The second is 'Tutorial', which actually contains several full scale tutorials, including the Wild Space Creature.

Look in the Hex application folder in your hard drive. Both the Help pdf and all the movies are there.

Agreed. I believe I used the default setup (for PC), and found the pdf Manual and Tutorial under:

C:\Program Files\Eovia\Hexagon 2\data\doc\

and the quicktime movies under:

C:\Program Files\Eovia\Hexagon 2\data\doc\data\

Odd. Sounds like an install problem. Not too sure what to suggest. If you have your install file and your serial number handy (and these should be available from DAZ, as well), it might be worth trying an uninstall/reinstall. If you don't feel comfortable with that, perhaps Thomas has some recommendations.

double click anywhere in the workspace to deselect or use the unselect all option from the selection menu on the taskbar.
ctrl+shift+A also deselects all.
