Who wants to paint a checker board???

How do I get rid of the checker board when I want to paint an object? the stupid UV map always shows a checkerboard and stupid me hasn't figured out a way to get rid of it.

I think you have to have the chekerboard as part of the UV setup. It's not a uv without?
Is it interfering with your results?

Shaun,

I think I know what you're referring to. I ran into this back when I first started playing with Hex's textures, but haven't caused it recently (I'm not sure why. It's definitely a slightly flaky area of Hex.). But I do remember what I did at the time that seemed to 'solve' it. In any case, it's at least something to try:

It sounds a bit backwards, but for the material (need a Shading domain, of course), actually select 'Texture Checker'. Now, having explicitly selected the checker pattern, change it back to what you wanted it to be in the first place ('Color' or 'Texture Image', 'Texture 1024x1024, etc.). If I remember correctly, that should get rid of the checker texture. Weird, huh? hth
