Hiya.

What about using the "Close" tool? If that doesn't work, what about the "Facet" tool?

Tried the close tool didnt work dont kno how to use the facet tool yet its not really "open" i thickened the lines and squashed em then disolved the lines underneath then face extruded the walls-that'll teach me about trying to save on ops, poly's and time !
Thanks for the tip tho i'll try it.

First off, what is it? It has a little sort of castle look or something to it..

Um, if you close that surface you'll end up with a nasty old ngon. You should be able to make another form and fill the area pretty simply though. This seems like one of those cases where you go for too much detail before you have the basic form setup and it's generally prefered to go from all basic to more and more detail. Do you need that completely "air tight" sealed?

One idea...

select the loop you want to close and then extrude this inwards only. Select all the new inner points and weld them together.

Not tried it but it might work ?

It will work to a point, but you'll need to alter the edges as you move them inward or you'll end up with a nasty point of convergence toward the center. If you facet in some new polys it could work, but I'd almost be tempted to start the other way and use a grid to make that shape and then simply add thickness to it. In essence, 'filling' or faceting in the top will most likely create the same kind of result as an ngon.
The exact middle will always be messed up where all of those points converge.

if you do this it will result in a plane comprised of tris not quads all meeting at the centre thats not good geometry

Hi Tod,
the close tool works just fine you just dont have an open curve to close so you need to create one, heres how to do it
select edge (F3) select the inner edge at the top/select loop/select the curve extract tool from the lines menu then select close to close the newly created curve

id use the Tessalate tool to slice the resulting Npoly into quads and remove the problem of points converging in the centre.

use copy/ paste to duplicate for the bottom and snap to align
id also use offset to create the illusion of thickness for this plane, personally i wouldnt bother adding thicknes to this plane
