Help with HEX GUI

This one is bothering me for long time.
When I click on a tool on the toolbar palete that has some more subtools inside, then a vertical toolbar opens with these other tools. That's what I expect. I select one, its picture also appears on the main toolbar and the tool is selected. Also expected. I use it, then maybe do something else, but if I want to again select the same tool I used back and I click on its icon on the main toolbar, again the vertical menu opens up and I have to select the very same tool that is already shown on the main toolbar.

Oh please, please tell me what is the trick to select the tool I see is already shown on the main toolbar WITHOUT opening the sub-toolbar (and have to select the same tool that already is selected)

I hope you could understand me on this...

Yes, you can make a custom toolbar Oscar, but the subtools you're talking about like 1'n and stuff have no icon and cannot be placed on the custom bar. Some have shortcuts on the keyboard and I suggest you print them out from the help menu and keep that handy for awhile until you're more comfortable with them. After awhile you'll get fast at the right click menu and it won't seem like such a hassle. I often do 1n and then 1n again to get some funky patterns going and it's a neat little trick. We should start a helpful hints and tips/tricks thread on Hex and sticky it... I've learned a ton of workarounds and "how-to's" in the last couple of years and while hex isn't perfect, it's still extremely capable with a lot of practice.

Couerl. I think you misread his post. He's not talking about the right-click menu. The dropdowns in the main toolbar can be placed in the custom toolbar.

Thank you. I was a bit afraid of that, but also thank you for reminding me the right click menu - I actually never used that. I did figured out the custom toolbar on my own by serching the manual. Well, what to say, maybe they will fix the interface. It is probably few lines of code.

It is a pitty it crashes or locks up so often on me!
