Bending an object in Hexagon 1.2

If I had a logo and wanted to attach it to a cylinder how would I get the logo to wrap around the cylinder? I am sure there is an icon for it to bend but where is it?

Go to the utilities tab and it is the 8th icon from the left - just hover your mouse over each one for a couple of seconds and a popup will show what they are.

Just did a quick search for bend and came up with this - looks like it will help you.

http://forums.polyloop.net/hexagon-t...e-surface.html

the search option is towards the top of the screen here on the forum.

bwtr,

On a thread where I wanted no help at all you found time to go over board in trying to help. I admit the help was in vain but you were able waste a lot of time. On posts where I ask for help you seem to refer me to the manual. When forum members ask for help I do not just post what page to turn to in the manual. Instead I post 3-4 screen shots that offer a different take on things from the manual. The video tutorial was helpful.

I would like to note that I needed to know if there was a bend tool and where it was located before trying to look for it in the manual. Also pages 196 and 197 are the wrong pages for the Hexagon 1.2 manual.

I find it odd that people ask questions before first knowing there apps UI and Help/Manual--Manuals which often contain tutes.

No, not odd--queer, illogical!

There are some people on these various forums who take pride in NEVER reading manuals or help files.

Struth!

bwtr,

These forums are here for us to help other Carrara and Hexagon users when they need it. If some one had posted there is no bend tool in Hexagon 1.2 then I would have saved myself a lot of time. like I said I find your post more irratating then they are helpful but perhaps one day that will change.

On a side not I do know Hexagon and Carrara but like others I do not know everything. Complex modeling with Hexagon is next on my agenda. I was hoping Carrara 6.0 would be out by now but it is not. I was hoping Carrara would have a few extra tools so I could ditch Hexagon. I like Hexagon but I would like to use just one program (Carrara) for everything.

Well, don't forget that, in order the warping to occur , the logo must not be a group. The text group must be weld as one, and the text won't be editable anymore.

...I got discombobulated with the manual a while ago because I was reading about the "Bend" tool but was working with the "Bender" tool which is nested in the deformer tools right next to the bend tool. They're both very handy, but quite different.

...hehe. That's the point. When a Hex newbie doesn't know there is a "bender" tool right next to a "bend" tool it's easy to get discombobulated ;)
