Constant "validate" why?

Hey all,

OK, now for some reason in HEX2 I have I can no longer hit return to end a function. I have to click validate to end. Again in HEX1 return works. Did I mess something up in HEX2? Thanks.

I've tried that but end up with excess geometry. Say I'm using the polyline tool. If I double click I end up with an extra point from the second click.

Don't let the mouse travel/move and it shouldn't be an issue.

OK, I'm back again. HEX2 does not validate after hitting "enter" again. Are you all getting this to work? Try this:

- select poly line tool.
- draw a couple of segments.
- hit "enter" to end the tool use (to validate the tool)
- Does the line tool release?

Again, I can do this in HEX1 and thought you could do this in HEX2? Now, I have been using HEX1 more than 2 because of the graphics requirements. Thanks.

hey dooki, yeah i've tried it and seems that u right, but i think that with lines (square, rectanle) u dont need to validate them as they'r validated after u finished with them... the rest of the lines should work ok means u have to valida them once u finished creating them.. cheers promo

Maybe your keyboard is crappy. They do go out after a while.
Anyway, just double click when you're done drawing a line and you won't have to leave the mouse to hit enter to begin with. ;)

Thanks all.
My keyboard is pretty new so I don't think it's that. Also Hex1 works fine. I have HEX2 on a PC as well and it works no problem. I just can't figure what happend? Did I tweak a setting or something? I donno...

And yes, I can just double click to validate, but you know how it is when you get into a work routine.

Well, thanks for the replies folks.

Hey Stu,

PC is fine. eMac,iBook work as well, except that I cannot take advantage of the paint tools in HEX2 tool on the Macs. That's OK though because the rest of the modeling tools work.
The thing is, hitting 'return' to validate used to work on the emac and it still works on the iBook. Like I've said earlier, I don't know if I've tweaked something by accident. I've tried resetting the pref's but it still not working.

Hey Promo, You mentioned that you have had the same problem?? What OS are you using?

Well, I didn't solve my mystery but I have found a solution, Promo you should check this out. I opened the shorcut editor and assigned the "return" key for validate. (DUH!)
