I've modeled an object using a very simple extrusion. Some of the edges of the extrusion appear to be 'smooth'. I want to 'crease' them (only them, see attached file - marked edges) as can be done with Carrara's 'Crease' tool. I can easily do it later in Carrara, but I'd like to know if it can be done from within Hexagon (logic says: YES!). All of Hexagon's smooth tools seem to be affecting the whole object. I've noticed that this property is influenced by the angle created by the two faces that are on both sides of the edge. Is there a way bypass this setting locally? |

Hi ![]() The step is to take the real smooth tools, and there, under the smooth interpolation types it's the second icon that let you chose the edges to be creased. But beware ! You might want to do it at the very end , because there is a bug that move away the edge selection randomly to some other edges if you continue to add some geometry (ex: extrusion). It's not a big deal, but the work must be (re-)done again. |

Thanks Piem, you're FAST! I just noticed another post from 3 weeks ago with the same question .Thanks for the bug tip. I'm using Hexagon with a non-compatible graphics card, so it's hard for me to tell between malfunctions and bugs. |
