The hard part is working out what is what so you can untangle overlapping uv's.

I dont understand why they dont actually flatten out the uv's properly. I mean If I unwrap an orange as is often mentioned I dont stick parts under other parts. .

It is because Carrara's UV doesn't allow for seems to be added to the mesh. I actually address how to deal with this issue in my next UV tutorial #4 which will be out...eventually O.

If you want a basic look at some UV exercises that are are quick and simple, then look at my website for them. http:www.awbenson.com Each tutorial is object based (means you get a full object at completion) and should be finishable within twenty minutes each. I provide all supporting files and each tutorial can be completed from C3 to C5, even through the tutorial's screenshots are C5P Beta.
