Enhancing a blueprint

I got the sample blueprint from http://www.airwar.ru/indexe.html and used http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/c130hercules.html

If you try to increase the size of a blueprint to have a look at that finer detail, it gets blurry so this is an alternative.

Firstly bring your blueprint into a photo editing program. From the blueprint cut/crop the part of the image you want to work on into a new document, invert and save it.

I used Bryce for this part, but I'm sure other programs can do the same. In Bryce create a new terrain. Select the terrain and click on the 'e' to edit it. Under the editing tools, elevation, select 'new' which will clear the terrain.

Go to the pictures tab and click on load and locate the image you have just cut/cropped and apply, then click ok (tick mark) to exit.

The terrain is upside down, so rotate it around. Change the material to a much plainer one like sand and then render the image to whatever size you wish.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Glad to see a C130 Hercules.
Like the one which often took me in Corse, to Solenzara, in the 90's...

...In order to be a soldier hu hu hu !!!

Do you plan to model and render it ?

Hi. Yeah I'm trying. My first 'grown up' model besides the beginners vase or such like. A bit of a tall order. I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to do the front, the windows don't make it easy. I hope to post a WIP thread when I feel confident enough.
I was going to do the Boeing C-17 but then I came across and started reading up on the Hercules I went for her instead.
