| Seamless tiles
For anyone interested in an easy way to create seamless textures check out Gimp2 and the free plugins. There is an option under the "filter/map/make seamless" which will make any image repeatable. You may have to clone and pretty up the middle of the image but it will save you a slew of time especially with photographed textures such as brick, wood etc.
There are 2 parts to the install (runtime environment and the application itself) so make sure you get both.
For those with Wacom tablets and on the Windows os, keep in mind the pen button when set to middle click will alternate functions sometimes in gimp.. not sure if its a wacom bug or a gimp bug but just a heads up so you dont get too frustrated and use the pen as a lethal weapon on anyone nearby...
