For you guys into software music stuff

I remember that a few of you do music stuff on the comp. Thought I'd pop by and mention there's a great buy on for Wusicstation (great sampler/synth) for $59.00! This is a crazy silly price with all the other stuff they're throwing in for free. (No, I'm not affiliated with them. I just bought it today.) Here's the link: http://www.wusik.com/w/purchase.html If you're curious what the computer music geek community thinks about it here's a thread at kvraudio where most of them hang out: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewto...er=asc&start=0 Edit -- oops. Second link above is to Wusic thread at their support forum on kvr. Meant to post link of review by kvr members. Sorry. Here's the correct link: http://www.kvraudio.com/user_review/1102.html

...yea. In the last month or two I'd already spent five hundred bucks or so on the major Cakewalk synths/samplers (Dim Pro, Rapture & Z3TA+, not to mention Project 5) and told myself, "That's it. No more music software for a while.", err, until I saw this. hehehe. Ah well. I would have regretted it if I'd missed out.

I've learned to ignore buyer's remorse
You're lucky getting P5 now since the drastic price drop so you're doing good. I paid over $200 for it 2 years ago. Looks like you got some nice synths there. My newest toy is Addictive Drums. No more after this, really, I mean it

Question

Yeah, I've spent a butt load of monae on music apps in my day as well with Sonar XL 6 Producer being the most recent upgrade

So how does this group buy work? I see the counter is at 256 - at 300, there's supposed to be even more given with your purchase.

If you buy now, do you get those additionals (before Jan 30th) or do you only get what you get at the time you buy??

In other words, do I wait till the 29th or until the counter goes above 300 (whichever occurs first)??

Any info appreciated!

-Will

From the top of the page at the Wusic link in the original post:

"EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 30th!!!

Since we are over 100 users, if you order NOW, you get the product link RIGHT AWAY. And you don’t have to pay anything extra by the end of this GB. We already reached the MAX discount.

PLUS: If we go over 300 users, we will add even more sounds to the group-buy: Autodafe’s MegaPads, scroll down to see a description of it."

Warning

Yes I emailed my question and he said that even if I buy now, if they hit 300 then I'd get the extras as well.

What I don't like so far is the count was 256 before I purchased and I see it's STILL 256 after, I'm hoping there's an update lag cause my order should be reflected as 257!

...I think you misunderstand, Will. ALL the stuff in that list, if you read it closely, is already included except for the one item at the bottom (the Megapads). If they don't get 300 buyers then the Megapads will not be included, but all the other dozen or so items will. That's still, what, 8 gig plus of samples, plus a nice wavesequencer/synth/sampler? Who cares if the Megapads are included or not? ;)

Hi

I'm a beginner in audio. I am mainly interested in it for creating soundtracks for my own animation.
Can anyone give me an idea if Acid Music Studio would be a suitable host for Wusikstation?

According to the Acid specs, it will load VST/VSTi plugins, but does not support parameter automation. I don't have a clue what parameter automation means.

I really want FruityLoops, but I don't have the money for it. I played with Acid, but did not really like the sound quality of the synths. Wusikstation sounds a lot better to my ears.

The Acid/Wusikstation combination seems to be an economical alternative to FruityLoops. I am going to look around on the Wusik site and can probably get some info on their forums as well.

Chris

chrisd - before you spend any money, check out Reaper. It has an unrestricted/unlimited demo and is a very capable host that will handle Vst/Vsti.

"...a suitable host for Wusikstation?" I know it doesn't help right this instant, but WusicXtation also comes with this group buy. Might be interesting. (Ignore the pricing for it because you get it free, when it's released, with this group buy.) Here's the link: http://www.wusik.com/w/wusikx.html

...and now look at what William (from Wusic) says in the thread on kvr:

"Guys, should I license the Autodafe's Grand-Piano too, or just save the money to something else? I can get an incredible deal to add if we reach over 400 users."

Just got this email an hour ago: "Yes, its confirmed now! We have hit over 400 users, and just added a new option: 600+ users Extra SoundSets by Nucleus-Soundlab! :-o Going Over 600 Users: (not included in the DVD) + VS Resurrection by Nucleus-Soundlab: includes all 94 classic waveforms from the Prophet VS - as well as 14 more complex, filtered and effected waveforms. Using these waves as a starting point, Nucleus SoundLab designers created patches ideally suited to Wusikstation\'s strengths. The result is a eminently playable, rich - and very \'80s digital\' - sample library. Details follow: 600mb (32-bit format) of carefully sampled/looped VS waveforms. 108 unique soundsets. 300+ Wusikstation presets authored by a variety of talented Wusikstation designers - tasmodia, Daniel Kemp, Vera Kinter, and elv. Each Wusikstation preset has the XY pad fully mapped to a variety of parameters - as a tribute to the original VSs vector synthesis! MP3 Examples: http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Vintage%2 0Symbiosis.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Versus.mp 3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Tasmodia% 20Presets.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Resignati on.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Washed%20 Ashore.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/vsr/Misc%20Pr esets.m3u + Chord Waves I by Nucleus-Soundlab: contains a variety of synth chords programmed on modular synthesizers - which are ideal as song-starters for all forms of electronica. They also make excellent atmospheric textures when run through appropriate effects. The Wusikstation version contains: Over 450mb (32-bit) of raw samples. 16 multisamples comprised of nearly 150 waveforms. 100+ Wusikstation v3 presets by a variety of professional sound designers. MP3 Examples: http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/mgp1/chordwav es%20combinator.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/mgp1/mgp1.m3u http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/mgp1/lance%20 demo.mp3 http://www.nucleus-soundlab.com/mp3s/mgp1/first%20 taste.mp3" ...geez. This is the first 'group buy' I've ever bought in on. I'm going to keep my eyes open for more of these. It's fun watching them grow out of control like this. Edit: I know the links above don't work, I think because of spaces where there should be none. Also, I never have been able to figure out how to insert empty lines in a post in this forum. Sorry if it's a bit hard to read as a result.
