METACREATIONS 3D SUITE

METACREATIONS 3D SUITE

I'm in need of some information on this old software package released by METACREATIONS some time ago.

Maybe someone still owns a copy of this suite.

Kind regards, Lourent.

Hello

This is the brief history

But I don't get any copy of those old softwares at their prehistorical versions.

Is it for a museum ?

Haha!! Romi those are great!.. With all the focus on hyper-realism these days and renders that sometimes take a second or third look to tell from the real thing it's cool to be able to see spline models and classy old renders like this again.

Thanks for sharing,

Steve

Flower Thank you!

Thanks for the information!

And that are some nice renders!

I've found a sealed copy of Meta Creations 3D Suite III!

But I am still looking for a copy of Infini-D 4.5 and Ray Dream 5.5 maybe someone can help me with finding those... actually I am just looking for all kinds of old cg-software up to 1999/2000

I laugh at my own questions! I have fun asking them!

Still I am very serious about it.

Ow, and can someone tell me what Detailer was/is?

And, and! Another question... what software was used to create the realistic looking humans used in poser, 2, 3 up to 5? (I guess this is a difficult one... )

I like smiley's...

Regards, Lourent.

Detailer was the ancestor of Painter3D. A 3D painting software.
see : http://www.macuser.co.uk/macuser/rev.../detailer.html

And by the way, if you're looking for old MetaCreations software, don't forget the KPT (filters for Photoshop). Still installed on my computer and working perfectly with Photoshop CS3...

And for your collection, a picture of the french CDs of Poser 2 and 3, RayDream Studio 5 and Bryce 3D...

Oh, btw, I don't have the answer for Poser but here are two links that may be interesting for you (with pre-release images...)

http://www.larryweinberg.com/gallery2/v/PoserHistory/
http://www.e-frontier.com/article/view/1593/1/302/

Maybe you can contact Larry Weinberg directly and ask him. If you do that, please post his answer on this forum !
