| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | Very cool! Basic from the ground up ZBrush 3 tutorials at this site... small size camtasia vids... extremely well done and instructive. Password and Login (as published at ZBrush Central) = 3dtedu http://3dtrainer.com/page3/page44/page44.html I may work up nerve enough to take the Z-plunge after watching these. ![]() |

| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | I like the feel but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself... it is a complex program. I figured out the tool thing (strange)... anyway, I'm just getting started on this adventure. Found a tut or 2 here about displacement by Thomas, and even some over at Renderosity on getting displacement from Z to Carrara that were done ages ago by Teyon.... haven't had a chance to dance around with them yet. By liking the feel, I mean the way sculpting reacts to my wacom.... sweet! "...Miles and miles to go before I sleep..." |

| Pixar want to hire me! ![]() | The borg ate mudbox Yes they did, Im waiting for Mudbox 2 rather hopefully now. Bugger I was hanging out to buy it, but now it looks like I have to persevere with zbrush. My opinion - mudbox so much more intuitive and easy than zbrush as a sculpting programme its not even a contest and I own Z3, although zbrush has the magical make UVs button you might like. There is no M2 to try unfortunately but if the painting promises to be half as good as the sculpting then ill sell one of my children for it. So I think Ill wait a bit yet. Good luck with Z3,1 some people just seem to get it, and you cant argue with the quality work that comes out of it. |

| Doodlin' Dude ![]() | Thanks, Tony. Still waiting and hoping for the time when I "get it." But now that I'm in, I'll do my best to conquer the big furry beast. I've admired ZB for a long time, just wary of it.... seems just a little less scary since I have started playing with it. I don't want to fall into MB bashing here (might be easy to do). I should have listened to my little inner voice when I first contemplated MB, that said "What's with this buying support, the sky-high pricing, commercial/non-commercial, etc.?" Now they've been assimilated on top of all that.. It appears that to get any upgrades, buying their gold stuff is mandatory, yadda-yadda-yadda. Enough, already. |
