Impressive work... Do you already have MangaStudio? I thought it is not available until the end of march? (can you give us a further description of what you think about it?) By the way... I have a Manga-hair-tutorial on my website... so if anyone is interested? (www.just-art.de) |

Cool tute, JuST! thanks for the complement! Yes, it's obvious that I have MangaStudio, but you know how those pesky non-disclosure thingies work ;) The Windows version is out already. My Spidey sense tells me that real soon now there will be a Mac Version. Too bad there's not a special Carrara owner's discount for the program, but 50 bux for the basic version ain't bad and you can upgrade later for 200 clams. (US curenency after the treasury dept. outsourced the printing of money to Atlantis <grin>). Preliminary tests are very good for using Carrara, Poser and MangaStudio. Once I get my school finals outof the way I'll have a bit more time to post results. |

the comics I saw didn't seem very 'manga-ish' but maybe that's because I'm a hard-core manga addict. manga Studio is worth the price, I think. Its screentone tools are on a totally different level from open canvas; as a collector of screentones for years before this program came out, I can attest that good ones are not easy to find. The range of expression you can get with their object importing tool is amazing. keep in mind that while you can import any object, it was created for architecture so that artists did not have the redraw the same room over and over; they could create the 3D model and import it for whatever angle and lighting setup they need. I hope the helps. |
