[Modo]ZBrush... wow!

Hi guys,
I have purchased ZBrush software and... it's so great!
This is 2D, 2.5D, 3D, software, it is not intended like a classic 3D software but if used in a workflow help you to create very incredibles organic models (importing, or creating itself, models and sculpting).
I post a picture with my test, I have sarted with Zspheres and I have mesched and sculpted.
Now I wont to test importing Hexagon model and refined it whit ZBrush.
See http://www.pixologic.com site for more info

cheers

.....

Ive been thinking about buying Zbrush since I saw a tutorial on how to create an angaler fish (shown on a Disc in 3DWorld Magazine). Seems to have a nice range of modeling and morphing features. Im planing to buy this fall sometime to model a scetch I drew a little while ago. It was just a simple scetch of a bone structure of a mechanical giraffe with a very wide mouth, but has shorter neck and legs. If I get the chance I will start a Topic on here about the progress their I will put the scethes of my deformed girafee. Also how are the price ranges of Zbrush and does it have a nice interface......

All the Best,

To me Zbrush is a very unwieldy program. The whole 2.5D thing is confusing and the interface design of Zbrush is somewhere between Blender and dos. That said it is a capable program, likely will give you good results if you adapt to the interface.

OK, it has a "different" interface (version 1 was terrible) and it use a strange way to save the models and use strange metod to work.
But, for me, is wonderful the possibility to sculpt the particulars.
Who knows if hexagon can make the same one in its future versions (like Silos 2)?

I picked it up and the interface is very different than other apps, but so is Carraras and Amapis. I could'nt find anything when I started compared to C4D, Relasoft, Maya, Max. I don't know if it will replace the way I model but definetly the way I detail organic forms, all anyone needs is practice. And if you use it with anything grooves or one of Inagonis' plug-ins then you can render with Carraras' great renderer. Here is the sword test modeled by pixolator and displaced with Anything Grooves rendered in C4pro.

There are numerous Zbrush tutorials which were created by Ken Brilliant,. http://www.brilliant-creations.com - he's also a strong Lightwave user and has also used Amapi a little. You can find a tutorial on Amapi+Zbrush, mostly focused on the Amapi part, on his site. It's the "Amapi Demon" tutorial, which I also used for uvmap painting examples shown at http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/tuts/brilliantdemon
