obj. importing

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

Ok, here we go, I'm modeling a tea pot in Hexagon and I want to export it to Cinema 4D for rendering, the problem is that when I import the .obj file they are all in one object. The shader domain does work when I texture it but I want the freedom of multiple object like in Hexagon.

Are they options of doing this or not? And what is .mtl? I get it after I export my object. Ex: tea-pot.obj and tea-pot.mtl
