3DS max BIP Question Please Help.

I have two questions regarding the usage of BIP in 3DS max that I hope some kind soul
would let me into the solution.

First:
Could you tell me how to rename the entire bip Skeleton ?
I try renaming the root node but only the root node was renamed.

Second:
I want to "Settle" the pose for the bip by selecting the entire biped & hit "set key" in the
motion tab.

All is well, but the root node [The diamond shaped handle] sometimes will still change position
for some strange reason.

To compensate, I turn on "Auto Key" & manual move & unmove/rotate & unrotate to set the key
for the diamond handle.

So: how can I set the translation & rotation of the diamond object by a much faster mean ?

Thank You.

If you would just navigate around the various sections of this site, you'd sense that 3ds max is rarely discussed here. Kindly go to appropriate forums related to it. You'd find that there are hundreds of them. I wonder why. Surely not all of those users could afford $3,500 for a toy. Do you have a rich dad?

When a biped is created, it become a set of various shapes for 3DSMax, all connected together (well, rigged...) then, it's the same way as other objects, you have to name them one by one. Another soltion is perhaps doing a small maxscript which will rename all the biped (the prefix is the same)

For the second question, perhaps I missed so...

Joeschmoe: your right, this forum isn't the best for such question, but some members are using Max anyway... as me (I have been a 3DSMax trainer for two years ;))

I think, because of that: "go to appropriate forums related to it". But I also think it was an advice.

I was just curious because joeschmoe seemed to be telling someone not to post about a certain software in this section "... 3D from everywhere...." as if it was a rule. But, like Wacr mentions, maybe it was just advice.

No big thing, it struck me as strange - - I don't tell people what to post or what not to post because I thought that was the job of Thomas or a moderator.

Wow, Thomas :D
A 3DSMax trainer, I'm very honoured to hear from your advise, especially when I did not have the chance to attent your lectures :D

I went to your site to see your talented works Nate Owens, I'm speechless.
Wow...
I do not posses your talent but it would be really helpful if one day I could have a chance to spend like just 10 minute with you to learn how you break into the industry as I'm currently trying to :D
