Audacity versus Sony's Acid

Although these are sound/loop generators, they would be useful in putting together music for a demo reel, so I posted this here.

But my question is if anyone has any opinion on how Audacity ranks against Sony's Acid and Soundforge? I've seen alot of good reviews on it, and am wondering if its worth investigating if I already have an old version of Acid and Soundforge.

Thanks!
John

Well, I used Audacity for a bit, then went on to Sony, Sound Forge and Vegas Studio... Guess I like Sony ... seems to be more flexible works well as a team with other Sony software. Have some projects coming up that will involve some minor 3d animation, voice tracks and end up with making a master dvd for production cuts. This is for a client demo-ing their services/products.

Thanks Nate...

Nate, thanks. I have Vegas, Sony Acid v6, and an old Sound Forge, so it sounds like my bases are covered then. I appreciate the reply!

Happy New Year!
John
