It's cheaper than Fprime it seems (i don't know if they are comparable), but as far as i know both don't deal with LW9 nodes...

Hi,

I have tried the version 1.6 and this is a very good render engine. The only problem is that the doc is a little poor. But with the v1.7 the doc is about to be rewrite.

You can try the demo version 1.6. You can download here :

www.kraytracing.com

This is a full time unlimited version. The only little little little limitation is that it appear a very fine black strip with the rendering time to the bottom of pic.

Enjoy

I have not compared to other engine but I thing it is fast for this kind of render. And
the next version is faster. And the results are awesome.

An interesting note from the Kray manual (which is available for download) Features: page 3:

"Features

Kray is not just a plug-in. It is a complete rendering system that can render even if you don’t have LightWave installed on your computer. Kray reads LightWave scene/object files directly."

I wonder how this works ...

rj

P.S. It doesn't. Quick search turned up similar question to developers. It 'was' standalone, previous to version 1.6. It isn't anymore. Sad.
