Video : do braids

Hello all !

Here is a video showing how to create braids in Hexagon.

the video is in realtime, 800*600, the compression quality isn't very good, but not -too- bad I think. The advantage is that you haven't to wait to see the video, because the download transfert is faster than the play speed (for ADSL..)

If you prefer a better quality (but more download...) for the next time, say it me please

Hope it could help some of you

Yes, very good method

but it's difficult when you don't remember exactly the method.

My method is more "manual" : you see the result in real time, and can find the organisation of the braid.

this new method is more "mathematics", you have to well-know how a braid is construct, before begin the modelisation. Anyway, the braid is more perfect

mayito : there is no problem here, I can download it without any problem. Maybe you should try another time, and if it still don't work, i'm afraid I can't do anything, sorry...

behzad : yes, it is possible to bend it, with the same called tool. (see my old thread "rikku" : http://forums.polyloop.net/attachmen...6&d=1148591729 )

however, this tool has a big limitation, it is that it can't be used in 3d. I mean : it is necessary, for a good result, that the "bend line" (the "guide for bending") is in a plane. So for a 3d result, we should use some trick, as bending twice the object, but this trick can't work for all the situations, and it is sometimes very boring...

Sorry, I managed to downloaded it, it took me a while because the server seems very slow, and it works fine. Thanks.

Mayito : Yes, I see no tool which didn't exist in Amapi.

Behzad : I didn't remember yesterday, but viewing the video today, I realize that there is the demonstration of the bending tool in the video ;)
