Hexagon 2 unfold sample movie

Hi,

I uploaded the movie of the unfold process.(Request Quick Time 7. H.264 format)

http://carrara.eek.jp/hex/uvunfold01.mov

It is not understood whether this way is perfect.
But, I'm happy if this is your help.

Hexagon 2 has a lot of bugs. However, the Unfold tool and Paint tool are great and convenient! They work well in above all.
Unfortunately, I cannot yet export the good quality displacement maps....(I'm on Mac)

Thanks,

Just out of curiosity, what does being on a Mac have to do with exporting good quality displacement maps.

well, having downloaded the file, and doing video work I can answer that one. He used the new h.264 encoder from apple and a rather low frame rate of only 4 fps. The codec is rather efficient and he was able to easily get away with the low frame rate.

Thanks, Andrew...

Is there a site to get that encoder from... can it be used with any software that writes quick time files? I just do a little sometimes with Vegas from Sonic Foundary and that is an old version. At times stuff with Poser and Carrara to vid files.

you have to have quicktime 7 installed, and an application that can access and use the encoders avaiable from quicktime.

The h264 Quicktime codec is in Carrara5 Pro. Now maybe Carrara automatically seeks it out to put into the codecs list-- I dont know. But anyway all the stuff is free to download from the Adobe site anyway.
Its the only one I would ever use--the file sizes are very -- very small.

It has nothing to do with texturing a model. It's the video format used for the tutorial above.
