| colomn tutorial

I have a better and faster solution I think (anyway, the one I chose to do this kind of objects)this solution uses the "spiral" tool. ("propeller" ? it is a google translation) so, do a spiral, add a thickness to your spiral, and after, duplicate it and move it, and dupicate it and move it, ...etc (7 times to have the same result as your tutorial). The only problem is that I can't smooth between two spiral. ![]() (forgive my poor english...)

hi boris, the point of the tutorial is not the final object but rather technique. in this case using the line tools and copy/ paste to create a section curve in an exact geometry. as with any model theres always several way to create the same thing using different technique ,my method gives you many more options for example i can smooth the model any way i want i can also change the section curve very easily using the new selection and dissociate tools,my method is also less polygon heavy than your method though not as fast i agree my thanks for the input )stu
