video - screwdriver set

Another modeling session. this time it goes all the way to applying prebuilt shaders, in Carrara to domains created in Hex.

This is VERY basic modeling. and you will not likely learn any new modeling tricks by watching it.

Very nice video tut, Rickei. It's a showcase of just how powerful some of Hex's features are, not to mention Carrara's.

I also like the fact that the movie itself looks more standard like those you see in commercial sites. The screen size is also just right and it runs almost immediately after hitting the link. How do you do that?

thanks Sketchy

watching modeling videos always hypnotizes me, so I figured I would make a few of my own.

I use iShowU
http://www.shinywhitebox.com/index.html
it's Mac only. It has lots of options for size and compression, but I'm just using the defaults(see attachment)
the screen size is roughly half of my screen rez, and at 8 FPS, it loads pretty quick. My server is fairly fast too so that helps with the "instant start"

Help for the new guy

This may be a very basic tutorial, but I am just starting out in Hexagon so all of it will be new. :>)
Thanks,

Great start and great for those of us who are still getting the hang of Hexagon and Carrara. Thanks you.

This is indeed a great tutorial - but for a newbie like me it is sometimes hard to see which tool you are using. I'll dive first in the basics and then come back to follow this tutorial.
Thank you making this for us!

Nice video tutorial; today is my first day in Hexagon, or any 3D modeling software at that. I think this, among others helped me undestand some concepts and gave me a better grasp of some of the tools (no pun intended0 of Hexagon. Thanks. By the way, I could learn (I think many people could) better if there was narraration to the video. Think about it and make some more. Good job!

Wow, you model that fast or did you speed it up?
Nice job!

I'm still new to Hexagon but I can see the work put into it.

I learned a lot, thanks again.
