Anything Grows

I really enjoy Carrara 5 Pro and am beginning to use more of its functions. I wanted to be able to create hair/fur for some of the models I've made in Hexagon and downloaded the plug in. I installed it in the extension folder and I was then unable to open C5pro. I had to run a fix to get it working again (Thank God that worked!).
Has anyone had this problem? What could cause this?

thanks for any help!

Hi restif,

I had the same problem but I do't know what causes it.
But because I work on Mac's mostly it doesn't bother me so much.
But you shoud post an email to the support at DCG, I think you get an answer very soon as far as I know Eric.
Goodluck, it is a fine plug-in, but a very demanding one. (On your processeor)

Cheers: Joppe

Send a message via Yahoo to ewinemiller
Restif,

Make sure you install the TXT file along with the MCX and DAT files in the extensions folder. As of C5, Carrara requires a 3rd file for plug-ins, but doesn't present a friendly message when it's missing. It trips up lots of people who have installed plug-ins for earlier versions of Carrara.

Regards,

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your help. There is a plugin folder under extensions, maybe I didn't put all the files in it. I'll give it a try. Thanks again for your help!

You just put the three parts into the extensions folder main area (Like all the rest that are there)---not into that separate plugin folder.

That is the differance with the Mac, you only have to place the two files in the extension folder. Not the txt file.
Thanks for your help Eric and Brian. :-)
