Light questions

1. How do I set a light anywhere near where I'm working? Usually when I try to pop in a light it comes up 90 miles from the object I'm trying to set the light near or into. Then I have to zoom way out, track around to find the light, then move it to where I wanted it to begin with.
2. How would I set several light's settings at the same time? I have a long row of street lights set with spot lights, I want all the settings the same, but I don't want to go to each individual light to set it's settings.
3. Aura, I have been working a bit with this, but I have odd things happen, like the glow coming out of the back of the object; not a light, but a matterial set to glow. Not all the time though. The taillights on a truck I'm working on came out right, but the Aura for the fog lights is behind them; as radiating out the back.

Hello.

1. I would use the Insert menu option, this way I know its always in center. The use my coordinates to move it.

2. I would set up one light first and then duplicate it move exactly where the second light is going to go and then just keep hitting the duplicate command and carrara will position is automatically for you.

3. On thing about lights, any of the light effect to work light object need to be in the camera view or it will not work properly.

Hope this helps.

90 miles, atleast it's not light years.

Try dragging a light closed to where you need it in one of the frames of a 4 window view.

One of the things I love about Kerkythea is how easy it is to put in a light. Just get your view were you want the light, sellect insert light, zoom out a bit and there it is.
I've figured out the fog light problem, bleed through. The back of the model is giving off the aura too, it's just easyer to see in the shadowed fender well. I'll just have to put something behind it to block it. If I get these lights fixed, this scene may be ready for the wips section.
I'm am having so much fun with Carrara 5. It's now my second favorite toy
